Minimum Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalency and three years of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience; or Associate's degree in secretarial science, business administration, or a related discipline and one year of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience ; or Bachelor's degree, preferably in business administration or a related discipline; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Essential Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: This position provides wide-ranging administrative support including routine correspondence, travel arrangements, and assistance with the coordination of logistical aspects of performances on the Carolina Performing Arts series under the Office of the Executive Director for the Arts (EDA). This will include fulfilling the contracted needs of the performing artists on the Series. Interpersonal and problem solving skills are important, as well as: The ability to prioritize and negotiate the organization's needs, as well as those of the visiting artists. The ability to plan and organize details for large productions with great attention and accuracy. Demonstrate a significant knowledge of the goals, priorities, and commitments of the Office of the EDA. Strong verbal and written communication skills. This position is being recruited for at the Journey level under the Career Banding program.
The hiring range for this position is $29,000 - $38,000, and the salary grade equivalent is 64.
Preferred Qualifications: This position originally supported the Executive Director for the Arts. As this department has grown and the caliber and number of performing artists has escalated, it has become necessary to shift the assistance that this position offers to the Manager of Artistic Affairs. This individual will serve as the primary administrative support to all artistic affairs in the Office of the Executive Director for the Arts by playing a critical role in the successes of the time artists spend in
